Through legal advocacy, organizing, and public education, we protect the rights of all people with the capacity for pregnancy. For decades, Pregnancy Justice has defended clients criminalized for pregnancy and its outcomes, and we will persevere.
To be clear, states never needed abortion bans to criminalize pregnant people. More than 1,700 have been criminalized since the 1973 Roe ruling using everything from murder to manslaughter to child neglect charges. But the loss of Roe will only accelerate this trend.
Now more than ever, it's time to fight for a world that treats all pregnant people with dignity and humanity, free from criminalization and state violence.
